Instructional videos are an engaging way to get students immersed in a variety of sensory experiences that they are unable to have in any other way. As a science teacher, while much of what I teach can be experienced through inquiry activities, the rest is entirely conceptual and very difficult to visualize. What is a good point is that while some videos may look good, the information may leave something to be desired, and it is up to teachers to do their due diligence in really investigating any resources they use in their classrooms. By accessing multiple learning styles at once, videos are a great way to reach a diverse set of students with a diverse set of needs all at the same time.
